Online Entertainment that will Blow Your Freaking Mind!!!!!!

YouTube Stuff:

The ShayTards:
This is quite possibly the worst produced, yet most entertaining television series to ever not appear on television.  It's the video diary of everyday family life and it's amazingly entertaining.   The father Shay Carl leads the crew with constant comedy and every member of the Carl family adds their own bit of flavor.  If you haven't seen it yet, do it now.

KassemG with CaliforniaOn:
KassemG an idiot, a madman, a genius everything he does blows my mind and makes me laugh hysterically. Particularly his CaliforniaOn series, in which Kassem tours the Cali board walk and insults people.  He is supposed to be asking them questions but mainly just makes fun of them.  Be warned KassemG gets NSFW big time, and is not family oriented.

Insanely interesting people talking about insanely interesting things.  These 15 - 20 minute talks are filled with visionary ideas and perspectives that you have never imagined.  This is content that cannot be found anywhere else and presented by people that are changing the world.  If KassemG represents comedy central on the internet then TedTalks represents the Discovery Chanel.  If your not afraid of having your mind completely exploded out of your head by awesomeness watch some ted talks.

Blogs and The Written Word:

Dvorak.org/blog has the best and most varied content of any blog I have ever read.  The majority of all blogs focus on super sub-genres of sub-genres.  I'm sure someone likes blogs about potato farming, but for the rest of us the dvorak blog has stories ranging from dumb criminals and politicians to the latest hacking attack.  There is something for everyone and it's all stuff you would have a hard time finding anywhere else.

A collection of short stories from people that just had something horrible happen to them.  Usually the size of a small paragraph and able to induce a milk fountain firing from your nose its worth every second spent reading it.  Also If you think your having a bad day read a few entries on this site.

Texts From Last Night:
Texts From Last Night is a large collection of mostly humorous text messages with a voting system to move the best texts to the top.  People can say some pretty amazing things in 140 characters.  It's good for hours of entertainment and fun to show other people your discoveries.

The Oatmeal:
If you take a whole bunch of information and jam into a hilariously illustrated picture you have the oatmeal.  It can be highly informative, funny, and entertaining, like "how to use a semi-colon" or it can be hilariously stupid like "why I'd rather be punched in the testicles than call customer service.".

The Premiere crappily drawn comic on the internet.  The entertainment value is high even though the production values are low.  It doesn't take a great artist to be funny and XKCD is there to prove it on a daily basis. It's the best website around to waste 4 seconds at a time.

This is exactly what the name sounds like various pictures of babies shooting lasers out of their eyes and it's funny.  Not much else to say about that.

Thoughts About My List:
Almost everything on this list is comedy.  Is it because I love comedy? Yes and no.  I do love comedy, but it turns out that comedy is excellent at overcoming low budgets and low production values.  I'm not sure if its true for every medium, but I wouldn't be surprised if all forms of entertainment originated with comedy until experts learned to hone their craft and use their tools for more than just funnies.  I would expect that this time next year this list might be a lot more serious.
