It's way easier to click on something then remember keyboard shortcuts. Second  some applications or programs may not support keyboard shortcuts, specifically fps games. It is way easier to use the mouse. Furthermore, Flash games are mostly mouse driven.

Not to mention the prevalent pointing devices, like head set thingies, wii pointers, and all sorts of mouse replacements. The problem with all those gadgets, they don't work any better.  The give really similar functionality without providing any benefit.  They take time to learn and many applications don't support them.

In my opinion mice are are still an important computer accessory.
